What is Moissanite?

Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone made from silicon carbide, originally discovered in a meteorite. Today, every moissanite is responsibly grown in a controlled environment, making it 100% conflict-free and eco-friendly. It offers exceptional brilliance, fire, and durability at a fraction of the cost of diamond, while far surpassing cubic zirconia in quality and longevity.

How to Care for Your Moissanite?

Moissanite is incredibly durable (harder than rubies and sapphires), so it doesn't need to be babied. However, like a diamond, it is a "magnet" for oil and grease. If your stone ever looks cloudy or dull, it isn't fading, it just needs a quick wash to remove the surface oils.

The Best Way to Clean (Do this once a week)

Soak: Mix warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap. Let your jewelry soak for 5–10 minutes to loosen dirt and oils.

Brush: Use a soft toothbrush (like a baby toothbrush) to gently scrub the stone. Focus on the underside of the gem, where dirt collects the most.

Rinse & Dry: Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Dry with a lint-free cloth or use a hair dryer on a cool setting to avoid water spots.

Daily Wear Tips

Lotions & Scents: Apply your perfume, hairspray, and lotions before putting on your jewelry. This prevents chemicals from building up on the stone and dulling its sparkle.

Gym & Swim: While the stone is tough, we recommend removing jewelry before lifting heavy weights (to protect the metal setting) or swimming in chlorinated pools (which can damage gold plating over time).

Proper Storage

Moissanite is extremely hard (9.25 Mohs). If you store it loosely in a box with other jewelry, it can easily scratch your other pieces (like gold, pearls, or other gemstones). Always store your Moissanite piece in its own soft pouch or box.

Our Promise: Don't want to clean it yourself? Send it back to us anytime. As part of our service, we offer lifetime free professional cleaning to keep your piece sparkling like new.
